Romans 6:23 - “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  (NIV)

Grace is a wonderful word.  It means the free, unmerited favor of God.  IT’s His remedy for sin…..for the sinner.

It’s the costliest gift ever offered.

It cost the Son of God His life.  He, the “Friend of sinners,” came into history to make an infinite sacrifice for the sins of all mankind, from the first human being to the last one ever to live.  He was the “Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” Born to be crucified.  Suffered our death that we might receive His life.  Bore our sin that we might be made righteous in His perfection.  Became poor that we might have His riches.

His gift of grace is free for the asking, free for the taking.

In His mercy, God doesn’t give us what we deserve: judgment.  In His grace He gives us what we do not deserve: justification.

If we acknowledge that we are sinners - if we confess our sin - if we desire His forgiveness, cleansing, renewal, life - if we ask God for forgiveness…..He will respond in grace.
